At The Heart of Mary School, we believe in Music as a major basic formative element for auditory or intellectual development that also makes easy assimilation of languages or logical-mathematical thinking. But above all, we The Heart of Mary School think Music is vital for the person’s development, her inner life, creativity, aesthetic sensibility or overcoming, both individually and collaboratively.
In general, we are committed to artistic training as a way of expressing individual and collective abilities and as one of the best tools to acquire criteria of beauty and balance. However, we have emphasised this training bet with the Violin instrument as one of the most complete devices to achieve our objectives.
Under this view, the MÚSICA Y PERSONA project of The Heart of Mary School has been launched by its titular entity as a single project that has already turned into a benchmark for educational innovation and has drifted into an Association birth to promote its educational principles.
Through Música y Persona at the Heart of Mary School, the children begin playing the violin at age three and keep on playing it with support from their parents outside school hours in well-equipped facilities that have been arranged for this purpose.
By involving families in this activity, it is also possible to maintain and expand this family-school tie, which is so important to our Educational Project.
In Primary Education, the Música y Persona project is integrated in the Curriculum and the number of compulsory hours in which the subject is taught increases. This way, the educational stage turns into a proposal for a differentiated value, which makes The Heart of Mary School be special and singular that offers an important space to play the violin within school hours in its Educational Project for Primary School.
